SERVING THE COMMUNITY

The Village Social is run by husband-and-wife team Phillip and Sivon. Originally from South Jersey, Phillip spent many of his childhood summers and winters in Speculator, drawn back year after year by the charm of the town and the sense of community it offered. When Phillip and Sivon met, they quickly realized they shared the same dream: to one day make Speculator home. What started as a weekend getaway in 2021 slowly became a calling, leading them north along the Hudson before finally settling where their hearts had always been. Inspired by the people, the traditions, and the role diners play as true gathering places, they took a leap of faith to create a space where locals and visitors alike can come together over great food, familiar faces, and a sense of belonging. This is a place where community still exists, and it’s our goal to preserve that with a place where people can gather for a cup of coffee and to enjoy the slower moments of life.
