A: Yes! We have a small parking lot on site, street parking is available along Route 30, and guests are also welcome to park at the brown building next door.

Q: Do you have outdoor seating?

A: We have outdoor seating available in the summer months. The rest of the year we are a cozy indoor space, which our guests love especially after a cold morning on the trails or the slopes.

Q: Is The Village Social Diner good for kids?

A: Absolutely. Families are always welcome here and we love having little ones at the table. We are a smaller space so arriving a little early on busy mornings is always a good idea.

Q: Where are you located and how far are you from Lake Pleasant and Oak Mountain?

A: We are located right in the heart of Speculator, NY on Route 30. We are less than a mile from Lake Pleasant and just a short drive from Oak Mountain Ski Area, making us a great stop before or after your adventure.

Q: Do I need a reservation?

A: We do not take reservations. We are first come, first served. We are a cozy space so during peak summer weekends and holiday weeks we recommend arriving early to make sure you get a table.

Q: Is The Village Social worth the drive from Lake George / Glens Falls / Saratoga Springs?

A: Guests regularly make the drive from Lake George, Glens Falls, Saratoga Springs, Albany, and beyond — and tell us it was absolutely worth it. There is nothing quite like it in this part of the Adirondacks. If you are looking for a reason to explore Route 30 and Hamilton County, a meal at The Village Social is a great one.

Q: How far is The Village Social from Lake George? From Saratoga Springs? From Albany?

A: Speculator is approximately 50 miles from Lake George (about 1 hour), roughly 57 miles from Saratoga Springs (about 1.25 hours), and approximately 85 miles from Albany (about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your route). Many guests combine the drive with a stop at Lake Pleasant, a hike, or a day of snowmobiling on the trails right in town.

Q: Is The Village Social open year-round?

A: Yes, we are open year-round currently Tuesday - Saturday, 5:30am - 1:30pm, Sunday 6:00am - 12:00pm for breakfast all day, and closed on Mondays. Hours may shift slightly in the summer, so checking our Google profile before making a long drive is always a good idea. We will always announce any changes on our Facebook page and website.

Q: Do you have gluten-free options?

A: Yes, we offer gluten-free bread so that more guests can comfortably gather at the table. Please let your server know about any dietary needs when you order.

A: We accept both cash and credit cards.

Q: What makes The Village Social different from other Adirondack diners?

A: We are a locally owned community gathering place with a menu that goes beyond standard diner fare. Dishes like our Eggs Mediterranean and Stuffed Challah French Toast are Village Social originals you will not find anywhere else in the Adirondacks. We use high-quality ingredients, support local producers like McCombs Maple Syrup right here in Speculator, and put genuine care into every plate. People come back because the food is great and because it feels like sitting down with family.
